The Aim of the Hepatitis C Virus Operational Delivery Network
Operational Delivery Networks are focussed on coordinating patient pathways between providers to ensure access to specialist resources and expertise. The aim of the West Yorkshire Hepatitis C Virus Operational Delivery Network is to provide a specialised network in the West Yorkshire and Craven area to manage services, provide referral pathways and treatment to patients with the Hepatitis C virus using Direct Acting Antiviral medication.
About Us
The following four NHS Trusts make up the network.
- Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
- Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Airedale NHS Foundation Trust
- Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
The inaugural Steering Group meeting took place on 1st October 2015 where the terms of reference/governance arrangements for the network were agreed.
Leeds Teaching Hospitals hosts the network and is responsible for the governance and stewardship of the network.
The network covers the population served by the following Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG):
- Bradford Districts
- Bradford City
- Calderdale
- Leeds
- Greater Huddersfield
- North Kirklees
- Wakefield
The area also includes Airedale/Wharfedale Craven CCG some of which lies outside West Yorkshire. The population served by The Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust is covered by the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The total population served by the ODN is 2,477,310, comprising 1,240,247 males and 1,237,063 females.
Prison in-reach treatment is also provided as part of the Hepatitis C service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals to each of the four prisons in the area. These services are run on a weekly basis led by Viral Hepatitis Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS).
