In time for World Hepatitis Day, the Hepatitis C Virus Programme Oversight Group (HCVPOG) Health & Justice sub-group met on Friday 16th July 2021 to assess the nominations of micro-eliminated prisons across the estate.
We are pleased to announce that two West Yorkshire prisons, HMP New Hall & HMP Wealstun have achieved micro-elimination. The two prisons were amongst twenty across the country that have achieved micro elimination so far this year.
This was truly a team effort with LTHT Clinical Nurse Specialists, Joan Williamson and Sam Sharman working closely with The Hepatitis C Trust and Practice Plus Group HMP Healthcare teams to make this happen.
